Test test and test again

A frustrating thing for any web developer or tester is having to have multiple browsers and multiple versions of such running to properly test applications. That doesnt really seem that bad until you have the lovely task of watching one install over write another etc. Then came along Multiple IE from tredsoft : http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE

Now I know it isn’t that new and for those in the game  this isnt something that really blows the top off anything. But for anyone that is wanting to find out a way to run multiple IE’s or netscapes etc on their machine this is the way to do it.

Just one thing to note though. Watch out for a few inconsistencies. They are rare but do happen. Especially in the IE6 standalone. IE6 is buggy at best most of the time, so it should come as no surprise that IE6 standalone and IE6 native are very very minutely different. So before you go bald from trying to reproduce a testers bug they have logged, make sure to check you are both running the same IE and one isnt running the standalone version.

Have fun!
